  • September 8, 2014:

    Today marked the launch of the latest DRPI report from Colombia, Human Rights Monitoring in Persons with Disabilities, with an Emphasis on Psychosocial Disability in Colombia: A Comprehensive Analysis.  The report was produced by DRPI’s Latin America office in partnership with Fundamental Colombia, a Bogota-based non-governmental, national organization dedicated to promoting the well-being of persons with psychosocial disabilities.

    The National Federation of Persons' Organisms with Disability of Honduras (FENOPDIH), in cooperation, with the Disability Rights Promotion International (DRPI), York University and The Latin-American Network of Persons' Not governmental Organizations with Disability and their Family (RIADIS), takes pleasure in presenting their report: Monitoring of Human Rights of Persons With Disabilities: A Comprehensive Analysis of Compliance and Breach of Fundamental Human Rights in Honduras

  • November 18, 2013:

    November 22 and 23, San Salvador, El Salvador - Balcher Building. More than 50 persons with different types of disabilities will participate in a workshop - Learning about our Rights. People from across the country will 2 day workshop that will focus on human rights, social participation and monitoring issues. Participants will leave with extensive knowledge of human rights principles.

    DRPI held both its Central America Regional Training as well the training of monitors, data analysts and other personnel involved in the DRPI Honduras Country Monitoring Project from June 25 to July 1, 2012. The joint training took place in Tegucigalpa, Honduras and was co-hosted by the DRPI Latin America Regional Centre and the National Federation of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities of Honduras (FENOPDIH).

  • April 5, 2012:

    From April 13th to 15th Argentina and Perú will be central part of the CRPD committee in Geneva. Both countries have ratified the CRPD and it is now time to check the implementation of this important tool. DRPI Latin American regional officer, José Viera, will be participating in this process in the evaluation of Argentina. José will be writing short reports from this important meeting, which will be posted here on the DRPI website.

  • March 31, 2012:

    The DRPI Latin American Regional Training Workshop took place from  March 3rd to 8th in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The workshop, which aimed to develop capacity in monitoring the human rights situation of persons with disabilities was hosted by the DRPI Latin American Regional Center, based in the offices of Fundación Rumbos and partnered with Red por los derechos de las personas con discapacidad and Red Latinoamericana de organizaciones no guvernamentales de personas con discapacidad y sus familias.
