About the North America Regional Centre

The North America Regional Office is located in Toronto, Canada at York University. There is a robust DRPI project in Canada, funded by SSHRC (Social Science and Humanities Research Council).

Meet the Regional Officer: Mihaela Dinca

Mihaela Dinca

Mihaela Dinca is the coordinator of the Disability Rights Promotion International Canada (DRPI Canada) project. Over the last 12 years, she has conducted several projects in the areas of social determinants of health and environmental risk assessment and has been involved in WHO projects in community health. She designed and implemented methodological frameworks and conducted complex statistical analyses on data from several population surveys and complex sample designs (for example, Participation and Activity Limitation Survey (PALS), Canadian Ethnic Diversity Survey (EDS), National Survey of Giving, Volunteering and Participating (NSGVP), Canadian Community Health Survey (CCHS) and National Population Health Survey (NPHS)). Mihaela has published in the area of literacy and disability, social  determinants of health, ecosystem modeling, and in the biomedical field. She received her BSc from University of Bucharest, Romania and her MASc from Ryerson University, Canada.
